Regional Product Manager Road

For 40 years, we have served our clients with our Air, Ocean, Road, and Warehousing portfolio and as we look to continue our growth, we are recruiting a forward thinking Regional Product Manager Road to join our Northeast and Southeast Asia operation.
We have enjoyed another very successful year here at cargo-partner and our ambitious expansion plans are in full flow after recently opening new offices in Spain, Mexico, and India and with new offices set to open later this year across Europe, the US, and Asia adding to our 4000+ workforce in 160 offices across 40 countries.
In this key business role, you will be responsible for the setup (in some locations), design, and implementation our Road and Logistics product across North and South East Asia. This position will best suit a hands on, communicative leader, that has undertaken road projects in their infancy and has exceptional knowledge of Road Transport products. The incumbent will also need to be results driven with a commercial acumen and the appetite to expand our entire overland product.
The Regional Product Manager (RPM) is holding the responsibility, within the NE & SE Asia region, for the strategic set-up, implementation and commercial development for the Road Product, with a special focus on the medium term development. This includes a P+L responsibility, directly relevant to the Road Product, which is overlapping with Line Management responsibilities. Key focus areas of the RPM is the product development, procurement and business controlling.
**Responsibilities**
Product Development:
- In alignment with the CPM he/she elaborates, sets and communicates product targets (in regards to Tradelane, Consolidation Strategy and priorities of the Product development) in own Region.
- In alignment with the CPM he/she defines the rules of routing & handling procedures, within own region, especially in regards to communication lines and Hub/Gateway strategy execution, as well as he/she oversees the compliance of these rules.
- Analyzes the regional market continuously, consults the strategically important agents and collects their needs in order to develop, in alignment with the CPM, new product solutions and market entry opportunities (Industry Verticals, etc.), where applicable.
- He/she is in close collaboration with CPM to develop specific Industry Vertical (IV) solutions.
- Responsible for the execution of the product set-up and standard operating model within own region and in alignment with the CPM and the Regional Operations Management (ROM).
- Supports the ROM in the continuous improvement of the operational processes and systems related to product in charge
- Supports the CPM in defining the expectations and general requirements of any new product relevant software tool that is to be integrated, acquired or developed.
- Ensures up-to-date product knowledge amongst NPMs within own region; personally delivers trainings when and where necessary.
- In very close alignment with the CPM, owns and oversees the annual budgeting process for own product within own region, including goal setting for country product budgets.
- Represents the company as SME with regional/national key accounts where necessary.
Sales:
- Performs own selling activities as part of management sales, targeting strategic opportunities.
- Supports actively the regional/national Sales, IV and KAM in the selling process to new customers.
- Involves him/herself in the solution design for potential regional/national key accounts.
- Supports cross-selling initiatives with other products, and performs the same activities for other products to air+sea+road customers.
- Oversees personally the implementation of strategic key accounts within own region.
- Ensures product know-how is relayed to the regional sales organization. Organizes periodical know-how (training) updates in close cooperation with the Regional DBD and Regional TQM.
Procurement & Pricing:
- Regional responsibility for procurement based on the corporate procurement standards (core carrier policy, space negotiations, volume commitment, volume rebates and other related topics).Ensures the buying rates are at fair market value (regional benchmark).
- Involvement in local procurement decisions on a case-by-case basis (based on approval Matrix).
- Supports the CPM in the management and benchmark of local group tariffs (incl. FOB/DAP rates).
- Supports the CPM in the set-up, execution and management of profit share agreements and customer profitability analysis within the organization.
