Develop and implement category strategies to achieve sales, market share, and profitability goals.
Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to drive decision-making.
Identify new product opportunities and category expansion strategies.
Product Portfolio Management.
Manage the product assortment within the category, optimizing the mix for revenue and customer satisfaction.
Oversee the introduction of new products and the discontinuation of underperforming items.
Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure product availability and quality.
Pricing and Profitability Optimization.
Develop and implement pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness while maximizing profit margins.
Continuously assess and adjust pricing strategies to maintain profitability and market relevance.
Monitor and report on category performance to achieve profitability targets.
Supplier and Vendor Relationship Management.
Manage relationships with key suppliers, negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
Ensure that products are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to delivery, quality, or cost.
Sales and Marketing Collaboration.
Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies that drive category growth.
Collaborate with the sales team to develop training materials, sales tools, and support key accounts.
Support the development of marketing materials, such as product brochures, digital content, and point-of-sale materials.
Performance Tracking and Reporting.
Analyze and track category performance against sales, profitability, and inventory targets.
Prepare regular reports on category performance and provide actionable insights for improvement.
Adjust strategies based on performance data to drive continuous improvement.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management.
Manage inventory levels to ensure that products are available when needed while avoiding overstock situations.
Work with supply chain teams to ensure product availability and minimize stockouts.
Forecast inventory requirements based on sales trends and customer demand.
Cross-Functional Collaboration.
Work closely with other teams (sales, finance, marketing, operations) to drive category success.
Collaborate on product development, go-to-market strategies, and promotional activities.
Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in category management, product management, or a similar role, preferably in FMCG.
Proven track record of driving category growth, optimizing product assortments, and managing supplier relationships.
Experience with pricing strategies, promotional planning, and inventory management.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to make informed decisions.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and category management software or ERP systems.
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
