Intern - Communication/digital Outreach [temporary]

Drafting and editing content for public information materials, including press releases, newsletter articles, blogs and social media;.
Producing social media plans and campaigns, as well as exploring more potential digital outreach initiatives to raise online visibility of ESCAP work;.
Producing multimedia material for online and offline products, including infographics, motion graphics, short videos, publication covers, presentation templates and event flyers;.
Assisting with video production, including shooting and editing videos, mixing sound and animating slideshows, if required;.
Assisting with photography and video coverage, when required, and supporting management of the ESCAP multimedia database;.
Assisting in the organization and execution of events to mark UN observances, press conferences, media launches, campaigns or exhibitions;.
Monitoring news clippings from local newspapers on global, regional and national issues;.
Providing background research for public information materials;.
Assisting with the ESCAP Briefing Programme;.
Initiating and carrying out assigned tasks/special projects.

EducationApplicants must be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
or be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
or have graduated with a university degree (and if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation;
have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Studio and Canva is desirable.
LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.

Applicants must be willing and prepared to undertake the internship remotely for a part or the entirety of the internship.
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation, insurance and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
