The Macroeconomic Policy and Financing for Development Division (MPFD) Internship is for minimum of three months, with a possibility of extension up to six months, if required by the Division.
The internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the Division or Section to which they are assigned.
Interns will gain first-hand experience with regard to the United Nations ESCAP activities in the area of strategic communications, digital outreach and public information. They will also gain a greater understanding of how the ESCAP works and its range of activities in the Asia-Pacific region.
**Responsibilities**:
The internship is centred on assisting ESCAP Macroeconomic Policy and Financing for Development Division in dissemination of various publications and events of the division, including developing a strategic communication plan and implementing digital outreach to raise the impact of the Division’s publications and events. The following responsibilities can be adapted, as appropriate, to fit each intern.
- Assist in drafting and editing content for public information materials, including press releases, newsletter articles, blogs and social media;
- Assist in producing social media plans and campaigns, as well as explore more potential digital outreach initiatives to raise online visibility of the flagship publication;
- Produce various multimedia materials for online and offline products, including infographics, motion graphics, short videos, publication covers, presentation templates and event flyers;
- Prepare professional presentation slides to be used to promote the work, projects, and activities of the division;
- Assist in video production including shooting and editing videos, mixing sound and animating slideshows, if required;
- Assist in the organization and execution of the launch of publications and events;
- Provide background research for public information materials;
- Participate and provide support in division
- and ESCAP-organized events, working with key internal and external stakeholders;
- Support the development of funding proposals and donor scoping for potential projects;
- Initiate and carry out assigned tasks/special projects.
