Meetings Services Assistant

Prepares conference material for meetings to be held away from Headquarters. Provides technical support for the AI Captioning service, ensure the audio quality to the captioner system and connectivity to Microsoft Azure cloud.
Sets-up webcasting and meeting rooms for the ESCAP Commission session and its main committees, regional and other intergovernmental groups.
Replaces, as needed, senior staff in the servicing of meetings and in making daily meeting room reservations.
Briefs new and temporary staff as appropriate.
Assists relevant officials and delegates in the meeting room on meeting-related matters.
Performs other related duties as required.

EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent is required.
Relevant first-level university degree in combination with one year of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of three years of required experience.
Work ExperienceA minimum of three years (or one year if graduated with a bachelor's degree) of responsible experience in information technology, network administration, management of hardware and software platforms, telecommunication facilities, conference support, or related area is required.
Experience in organizing virtual conferences virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Team, Webex, is required.
Experience in improving the conference technology in conference/meeting rooms is desirable.
Experience in webcasting and broadcasting is desirable.
LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
AssessmentQualified applicants may be evaluated through a competency-based interview and/or other assessment methods.
Must have passed the United Nations Global General Service Test (GGST) at Headquarters or an equivalent locally-administered test at Offices Away from Headquarters.
