The mission of Bain’s Business building team is to help our clients unlock their full potential by supporting their innovation journey through a rapidly evolving business landscape. Bain’s Business Building team members are experienced investors, entrepreneurs, innovation leaders and product managers. Operating in major innovation hubs around the world, we work with a strong network of venture capitalists, technology leaders and start-ups to help clients develop their innovation strategies, design optimal operating models, launch and scale new businesses, set up corporate venture capital functions, evaluate industry ecosystems and forge beneficial connections with relevant innovation leaders.

Introducing the Venture Architect

The Venture Architect is instrumental to helping our clients imagine, build and scale new businesses and is responsible for incubating growth thinking into every stage of business building. They will play a leadership role on a multidisciplinary venture team, straddling the roles of innovator, entrepreneur, and corporate strategist. The Venture Architect will make critical decisions throughout the process, and be responsible for the business plan, marketing, commercialization and go-to-market strategy of the venture / product.

**Responsibilities**:
Responsible for development and expansion of client’s new business venture 50%
- Develop the economic model, funding model, and business plan, including quantification of business value for potential investors
- Define the growth strategy and execution at all stages of the business model
- Build operating processes, systems, reporting
- Lead the design of the scale operating model as the venture grows; including development of operating guardrails and governance structure
- Establish Venture Objectives and Key Results to track milestones and outcomes and ensure the venture continues to move forward

Support and grow the full-scale venture team 40%
- Ensure strategic alignment across all stakeholders; responsible for bringing the right corporate assets to bear, coordinating work from all teams, and liaising with corporate
- Support and grow the full scale venture team

Identify and manage any partnership requirements 10%

**Requirements**:
**Strategy and planning**:

- Proven experience in leadership roles within a growth environment, ideally with an early
- to mid-staged startup
- Experience developing business strategy and planning
- Financial modeling experience (preferred)
- Developed strategic partnerships

**People management**:

- Demonstrated operational leadership, execution, ownership and management capabilities
- Proven experience building, leading, and motivating a team and managing multiple stakeholders
- Ability to lead through influence in a cross-functional international environment
- Facility with agile ways of working

**Operational and process management**:

- Previous experience within an operational capacity and good understanding of local market conditions
- Very strong interpersonal and analytical skills
- Have advanced experience in problem solving in a high-pressure environment
- Experience scaling a business; building operating processes, systems, reporting

**Additional requirements**:

- 7-10 years of professional experience with >5 years managing cross functional teams, leading strategy development, business development, or operations
- Entrepreneurial or early start-up experience is strongly preferred
- Product management or design experience is a plus
- Background in Management Consulting is a plus
