Job Description: Human Resources Manager (HR Manager)

Purpose of the Role
The Human Resources Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of all HR functions at Keerapat International School. This includes recruitment, staff evaluation, contract management, employee relations, and compliance with Thai labor law. The postholder ensures that HR systems and policies promote fairness, transparency, and alignment with KPIS's mission and values.
The HR Manager plays a key role in maintaining an efficient, professional, and supportive working environment for both Thai and international staff, strengthening the school's organizational culture, regulatory compliance, and staff wellbeing.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Recruitment, Contracts, and Personnel Management
- Lead and manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, interviews, onboarding, and probation evaluations.
- Oversee employment contracts, renewals, and terminations in compliance with Thai labor laws and school policies.
- Maintain accurate HR documentation including contracts, personal files, leave records, and attendance systems.
- Ensure expatriate staff are supported with visa and work permit processes through coordination with government agencies.
2. Policy, Regulation, and Compliance
- Develop, update, and implement HR policies, teachers' handbook, and operational procedures in accordance with Thai labor regulations and school practices.
- Ensure consistent enforcement of policies and fair treatment of staff in all HR matters.
- Provide guidance to administrators and supervisors on legal and procedural HR issues.
- Liaise with relevant government departments (Department of Labor, Immigration Bureau, Social Security Office) to maintain compliance.
3. Performance Evaluation and Staff Development
- Oversee and manage the staff evaluation system, ensuring consistency and transparency across all departments.
- Support leadership team and HR Director in conducting effective appraisals and providing constructive feedback.
- Identify training needs and coordinate staff development programs that promote professional growth and capacity building.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and engagement.
4. Organizational Culture and Employee Relations
- Promote positive employee relations, teamwork, and open communication throughout the school.
- Serve as a consultant to foreign and local staff on HR matters, fostering understanding and cultural sensitivity.
- Support initiatives that enhance employee wellbeing, motivation, and retention.
- Contribute to schoolwide initiatives that reflect KPIS's values of Communication, Collaboration, Collegiality, and Community.
Accountability
- Reports to the HR Director.
- Accountable for compliance with all HR policies, Thai labor laws, and school regulations.
- Expected to provide regular reports on HR metrics, staff turnover, and professional development to the School Executive Team.
Scope
- Whole-school (academic and administrative staff)
- Works closely with the HR Director, Executive and Leadership Team.
- Reviews all HR systems, policy implementation, and personnel documentation.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in human resources, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
- Strong command of English and Thai (spoken and written) with the ability to communicate effectively with international staff.
- Solid knowledge of Thai labor laws, welfare systems, personal income tax, and social security.
- Proven experience in recruitment, contract administration, and performance management.
