Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

● Teach Visual Arts courses in High School (American curriculum) and IB DP Visual Arts.

● Design and implement engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with school standards and IB requirements.

● Guide students through the artistic process: research, exploration, media experimentation, production, reflection, and critique.

● Prepare students for IB assessments, including the Comparative Study, Process Portfolio, and Exhibition.

● Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students with varied artistic backgrounds.

● Integrate technology and contemporary art practices into teaching and learning.

Curriculum & Assessment

● Develop and update curriculum maps, unit plans, and assessment tools aligned with IB and American curriculum frameworks.

● Assess student work using clear rubrics, standards-based grading, and IB criteria.

● Maintain accurate records of student achievement and progress.

● Provide constructive, timely feedback to students and parents.

Art Program Leadership

● Organize school exhibitions, art events, and showcases for internal and external audiences.

● Manage the art studio environment, including equipment, materials, inventory, and safety compliance.

● Promote a positive school culture by supporting interdisciplinary arts initiatives and community projects.

Professional Responsibilities

● Participate in professional development workshops, IB training, and faculty meetings.

● Collaborate with colleagues across departments and grade levels.

● Communicate proactively with parents, counselors, and administrative staff.

● Uphold school policies, child safeguarding standards, and cultural sensitivity appropriate for an international school setting.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

● Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts, Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.

● Teaching certification/license (preferred from the U.S. or equivalent international teaching credentials).

● Minimum 2–3 years of relevant teaching experience at the high school level.

● Experience teaching or familiarity with the IB DP Visual Arts curriculum.

● Strong portfolio demonstrating artistic and instructional competence.

● Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Preferred

● Master's degree in Fine Arts or Education.

● Previous experience in an international school setting.

● IB DP Visual Arts.

Ability to teach additional art-related subjects is a plus.
