Are you a seasoned Product Engineer passionate about optoelectronic devices and advanced manufacturing processes? Join Ciena's Site Engineering Operation group within the Optical Component organization. Collaborate with our Design, NPI teams, and manufacturing partners to drive innovation and excellence in transferring new products to our contract manufacturer (CM) and maintaining them in production.

How You Will Contribute

  • Analyze failures and develop fault-finding algorithms for CM engineers.
  • Define production requirements and specifications for processes and tests in collaboration with R&D and NPI teams.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for CM operators and engineers.
  • Maintain and optimize process and assembly tools for manufacturing.
  • Manage product yield targets and track performance against plans.
  • Create and oversee automated analysis tools and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Monitor and address field RMA/RCA issues, proposing process changes as needed.

The Must Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and 5+ years of experience in optoelectronic product design, manufacturing, or testing.
  • Solid understanding of optical devices such as lasers, modulators, detectors, optical sub-assemblies, and transceivers.
  • Proven knowledge of production processes for optoelectronic device manufacturing.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Product Lifecycle Management.
  • Demonstrated experience launching complex optoelectronic module products to market.
  • Ability to solve technical issues in high-pressure environments and collaborate with multi-functional, multi-locational teams.

Nice to Haves

  • Knowledge of PFMEA review and updates.
  • Experience managing BOMs for mass production.
  • Familiarity with second-source component qualifications and procurement specifications.
  • Proficiency in driving process improvements and capital expansion installations.
  • Strong computer skills, including database management and analytical tools.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Thai.
