Adam Smith International (ASI) Asia-Pacific is currently seeking a talented professional looking to take the next step in their career to provide operational, administrative, and organisational support to the delivery of a large infrastructure program, in a fast-paced and diverse program team, based primarily in Bangkok. This role would be suitable for someone who has experienced the aid sector and can work flexibly in a team.

**About the Program**

Partnerships for Infrastructure (P4I) is the Australian Government’s flagship infrastructure initiative for Southeast Asia. It partners with Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to foster inclusive growth through sustainable economic infrastructure (i.e. transport, energy, telecommunications, and utilities).

P4I focuses on infrastructure prioritisation and planning, policy and regulation, and procurement and project preparation (P4I does not finance the delivery of infrastructure). All services aim to address associated gender equality, disability and social inclusion, and disaster risk reduction and climate change challenges. P4I can respond to rapid requests, but ultimately aims to develop longer-term infrastructure engagement.

**About the Role**

As Assistant Program Manager, you will support P4I activities and assist with financial and operational performance of the program. Working closely with the ASI Senior Manager (SM), you will ensure that the company meets its contractual obligations to the client.

There is no one typical day in this role; however you will be tasked with the following:

- Supporting our programs across the region, with a specific focus on P4I;
- Contributing to new business development initiatives for clients, including the Australian Government;
- Building and managing strong and effective working relationships with key clients, partners and associates;
- Contributing to the ASI team’s thought leadership, communications, research and knowledge management efforts to support the reputation of the P4I program across Southeast Asia.
- Supporting the SM in the continuous improvement of all program operations systems and processes.
- Supporting the SM in the successful program financial management e.g. preparing budgets; forecasting and monitoring expenditure; reviewing and processing invoices;
- Supporting the Operations Team’s external recruitment process for associates, including drafting job adverts, identifying advertising channels, shortlisting, screening calls and scheduling of interviews;
- Supporting the Operations Team’s procurement systems and processes including customising templates, providing support to procurement panels, and collecting and filing required procurement documentation.
- Managing contracts including conducting proper due diligence and background checks, drafting and monitoring contracts;
- Updating and maintaining the program’s automated approval processes, Operations SharePoint page and Program Operations Manual
- Providing logístical support to program teams across the region and for short term consultant deployments, including coordinating travel arrangements (e.g. flights, accommodation and visas).

**About you**

The successful applicant will have at minimum:

- Knowledge of the Australian and/or other donor aid programs;
- Experience working in an office environment in Southeast Asia;
- Top notch computer skills including the full Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel. Experience with databases, project management software, and accounting software an advantage;
- Experience with SharePoint, Power Automate, PowerBI or basic system process/workflow mapping is an advantage;
- Political, social and cultural understanding of economic development in the Southeast Asia region;
- Project management experience. Experience within the international development sector or multilateral agency preferred;
- Ability to build effective, credible client relationships and networks including a range of multicultural stakeholders;
- High degree of organisational ability, including working well under pressure, with a high level of accuracy, and ability to understand complex areas of work;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, including report writing and presenting information, strong editing ability, and excellent computer skills. Written and oral communication skills in a Southeast Asian language is an advantage;
- Pragmatic and solution-oriented approach.
