Program Coordinator

Curriculum and Program Development

● Work with teachers to design engaging activity programmes that align with EYFS learning goals and reflect the school's curriculum and philosophy.

● Encourage planning that is responsive to children's interests and ideas (project work, provocations).

● Work with teachers to plan, guide, and set up classroom and learning area layouts that promote independent exploration, support learning outcomes, and ensure aesthetic presentation.

● Review and approve daily Tapestry observations, giving feedback to ensure high-quality documentation.

● Review and edit monthly 'Next Steps' documents and end-of-year reports to ensure developmental relevance and alignment with learning goals.

● Oversee the documentation strategy (e.g. portfolios, wall displays, learning stories) so that children's thinking and development are visible.

● Regularly assess and improve the materials used in classrooms to match the school's approach and budget.

● Contribute creative ideas and provide coordination support for weekend programmes, seasonal camps, workshops, and the Play Museum (currently on pause).

● Support the planning and execution of Open House events to welcome and inspire prospective families.

Teacher Support and Development

● Lead afternoon class activities and act as a substitute teacher when required.

● Recruit, onboard, and support new teachers to ensure alignment with the school culture.

● Provide guidance and regular training for teachers in areas such as:

●       Understanding EYFS goals and Reggio-inspired practices.

●      Designing meaningful, play-based, and future-focused learning experiences.

●       Supporting children's emotional well-being and ensuring safe, respectful behavior management.

● Monitor the quality of teaching, classroom environments, and material usage to ensure high standards are maintained.

● Offer in-class coaching and model exemplary teaching when necessary.

● Co-develop SOPs, policies, and guidelines related to teaching practices, classroom management, child safeguarding, and family engagement alongside the school manager.

Family Communication and Community Engagement

● Communicate with parents when needed regarding the educational program, curriculum goals, or individual concerns.

● Support parents' understanding of the school's learning approach through workshops and exhibitions.

● Be part of the teaching team in some programs to stay close to children and team needs.

● Monitor the consistency of documentation, classroom setups, and learning outcomes across classes.

● Stay updated with trends in early childhood education and future skill development to ensure programs remain innovative and relevant.

● Deep understanding of the EYFS framework and play-based learning.

● Experience with Reggio Emilia or similar child-centered approaches.

● Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
