Position Summary:

The Assistant Procurement Manager – Malaysia & Overseas will be responsible for overseeing procurement activities across Malaysia and Thailand markets to achieve the company objective of cost saving, NPD launch and packaging material improvement project. This role involves sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery of products. Including work with ERP system for price setup, purchase order, and data report for analysis. The individual will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support business growth while ensuring compliance with company policies and international trade regulations. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize sourcing efficiency and cost management.
  • Source and procure food products, ingredients, and other necessary supplies from both local and international suppliers.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure product quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and industry developments to anticipate and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, planning and operations, to align business objectives and requirements.
  • Work with freight forwarders and customs brokers to facilitate smooth import/export operations and compliance with trade regulations.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and implement improvement initiatives as needed with the QA team.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and international trade laws.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high standards of product quality and supplier reliability. Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Food Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management within the food industry.
  • Experience in purchasing food products, ingredients, frozen goods, or related categories is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and logistics.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) at a business discussion level is required.
