Job Summary

The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for managing and supervising daily production operations of Margarine, Fat Blend, and Butter Blend lines.

This role ensures that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and meets the company's quality, safety, and productivity standards.

The position also involves close collaboration with the Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Engineering teams to improve processes, maintain equipment reliability, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Management

• Plan, organize, and control daily production activities to achieve production targets in terms of quantity, quality, and efficiency.
• Monitor production performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements.
• Manage raw material usage and minimize production losses.
• Ensure production schedules are achieved within timelines and cost constraints.

2. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all production processes comply with GMP, HACCP, ISO, FSSC22000, and other relevant food quality systems.
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to maintain product standards and traceability.
• Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented.
• Promote a strong food safety culture and hygiene practices within the production area.

3. Maintenance Coordination

• Coordinate with the Maintenance team to ensure machinery, utilities, and equipment are properly maintained.
• Support preventive maintenance planning and downtime reduction initiatives.
• Participate in troubleshooting equipment issues to minimize production interruptions.

4. People & Leadership

• Supervise, coach, and develop production team members to enhance technical and leadership capabilities.
• Assign tasks and evaluate performance to build a high-performing production team.
• Encourage teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement mindset among production staff.

5. Continuous Improvement & Reporting

• Analyze production data, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions.
• Support lean manufacturing or productivity improvement projects.
• Prepare and present production performance reports to management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, such as Industrial, Mechanical, or Food Engineering (or related fields).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in production, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Experience in managing production of Margarine, Shortening, or Butter Blend products is preferred.
• Background in the Food Manufacturing industry is highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO, FSSC22000, and other food safety and quality systems.
• Excellent leadership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP
