Assistant Purchasing Manager

Job Summary
The Assistant Purchasing Manager supports the Purchasing Manager in sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services for real estate development projects. This role ensures procurement activities are cost-effective, timely, and aligned with project standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Sourcing
Assist in sourcing and evaluating new suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
Request quotations, analyze price comparisons, and prepare negotiation summaries.
Ensure materials and services meet project specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
Support the coordination of purchasing activities across multiple real estate projects.
Supplier Management
Maintain and update an approved vendor list.
Monitor supplier performance regarding price, delivery, and quality.
Support the negotiation of contracts, pricing agreements, and long-term partnerships.
Cost Control & Documentation
Prepare purchase orders (POs) and ensure accuracy in quantity, pricing, and terms.
Track and control purchasing budgets for assigned projects.
Ensure all procurement documents comply with company policies and audit requirements.
Coordination with Internal Teams
Collaborate with project, engineering, QS, construction, and finance teams to understand purchasing needs.
Follow up on material delivery schedules to ensure smooth project progress.
Support issue resolution related to delayed deliveries, quality concerns, or order discrepancies.
Process Improvement
Assist in improving procurement workflows, cost-saving initiatives, and supplier evaluation methods.
Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement standards, policies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
Experience
2–5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement; experience in real estate, construction, or property development is preferred.
Knowledge of materials, equipment, and contracting in real estate projects.
Skills
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Good analytical and cost-comparison abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight timelines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Detail-oriented and highly organized.
