Position: Operations Manager (English Speaking)

Alt_Coliving operates two community-focused co-living spaces in Chiang Mai: Alt_ChiangMai and Alt_PingRiver. Our residents are a mix of remote workers, creatives, and professionals from around the world. We are not a traditional hotel – we are a home and community for people who live and work here.

We are looking for a hands-on, people-focused Operations Manager to look after daily operations across both properties and keep things running smoothly, warmly, and drama-free.

• Oversee daily operations at both properties (front office, common areas, co-living & co-working usage).
• Plan and manage staff schedules, shifts, and handovers for the front-line team.
• Maintain and implement SOPs so the team understands and follows the same standards.
• Coordinate with management and relevant teams to keep front-of-house and back-of-house aligned.
• Walk the properties regularly to check rooms, common spaces, and facilities together with housekeeping/maintenance.
• Oversee and review inventory of supplies and amenities based on regular checks done by the team, and co-approve purchase requests to ensure they stay within budget.
• Take ownership of escalated cases or special issues that require a manager (even though 99% of our guests and residents are lovely).
• Provide concise updates to management on operations, team status, and key issues regularly.

• Full-time position

• Normally, 5 working days per week

• Some weeks may require 6 days during peak periods or staff shortages

• Days off will be arranged with reasonable compensation/rotation

• Shift-based work:

• Morning: 09:00–18:00

• Afternoon/Evening: 12:00–21:00
• A Community Manager is on duty at night as the first response. Important matters will be passed to the Operations Manager for follow-up and decisions.

This role uses English every day. Most of our residents and many guests are international.

We are looking for someone who:

• Can speak and listen in English confidently in real situations (explaining information, solving issues, handling complaints).
• Is comfortable having the interview round fully in English.
• Understands that if they cannot communicate in English at a working level, they will not be a fit for this role.

• 4–6 years of experience in hotels, serviced apartments, co-living, or similar operations. (Over 7 years is preferred)
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role (e.g. Supervisor, Assistant Manager).
• Fluent in Thai and good at spoken English (enough to handle daily conversations and problem-solving with foreign residents).
• Comfortable with basic digital tools: Line, WhatsApp, Slack, email, Google Sheets/Excel.

• Work style & personality:

• Calm, polite, friendly, and approachable

• Not a micro-manager, not nitpicky
• Direct but kind – able to talk honestly and solve problems with reason (western-style working culture)
• Proactive and willing to "act on behalf of the owner/ having an ownership attitude" when decisions are needed on-site
• A degree is not required – we value real experience, attitude, and reliability more.

• Probation (90 days) salary: THB 33,000
• Target post-probation salary: THB 35,000 (based on performance)
