Job Purpose

To oversee and manage the daily operations of the core accounting functions, specifically AR, AP, GL, intercompany transactions, and currency hedging/revaluation processes. The Senior Accountant is responsible for supervising junior accounting staff and ensuring the integrity of financial data, including the management of the fixed asset lifecycle and accurate revenue recognition in adherence to service contracts. A crucial component of this role is the preparation of local financial statements compliant with TFRS (Thai Financial Reporting Standards) and providing accurate, analytical financial data necessary for group consolidation and reporting to the parent company under IFRS principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Operations Management:

  • Oversee and manage the core daily accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and General Ledger (GL) activities.

  • Direct the management of intercompany transactions to ensure accurate reconciliation and reporting.
  • Supervise the process for currency hedging and revaluation of foreign currency AR and AP balances.
  • Manage the complete fixed asset lifecycle, including additions, disposals, write-offs, and depreciation calculation.

  • Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure accurate and timely revenue and expense recognition in strict alignment with service contracts and applicable accounting standards.

  • Prepare local financial statements for all operating territories in compliance with TFRS (Thai Financial Reporting Standards).
  • Assist the Accounting Manager in compiling supporting financial statements and documentation for local reporting and group audits.
  • Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements for the company group and provide necessary data for IFRS/TFRS-compliant reporting to the overseas parent company.

  • Team Leadership and Internal Controls:

  • Lead and manage a small team of Accountants, overseeing their daily tasks and development.

  • Maintain and improve strong internal control procedures across all accounting processes to safeguard financial integrity.

  • Collaboration and Ad-Hoc Support:

  • Collaborate effectively with the Accounting Manager and cross-functional teams to fulfill reporting requirements and address financial inquiries.

  • Undertake any ad-hoc tasks or projects as assigned by the Manager - Accounting.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

  • Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience is essential.

  • Proven experience in managing or supervising a small team of accounting staff.
  • Previous experience in an auditing field is a significant advantage.

  • Technical Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with IFRS/TFRS principles for group reporting.

  • Knowledge of GAAP differences across South East Asia territories is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and enhance strong internal controls across all financial processes.

  • Skills and Attributes:

  • High level of attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Proven ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
