Head of Projects

MAQE is an experience commerce company. We design experiences for our customers with one guiding focus; helping them sell more. We started our journey in late 2011 building SaaS and e-commerce platforms for startups in Europe and the US. We now use the tools and techniques we learned over the years (e.g., Design Thinking, Agile Methods, LeanStartup, and Product-Lead Growth) to help our customers. We’re a growing group of friends based in Bangkok who believe that "happy people do good work". While technology is important and at the center of our work, we believe that being people-focused is key to driving success **The Opportunity**: *** We are looking for a Head of Projects to join us in our mission to "change how the world works". **This is a management position. **It is a GREAT OPPORTUNITY for a manager with 10-ish years of experience, who wants to 1) take their career to the next level and 2) work towards a C-level role at MAQE or similar. One of our core values is Freedom. And we will give you a high latitude to run the production side of the business however you see fit. As the **main focus**, we expect that you would be accountable for all deliveries across all projects and manage our growing teams of PMs. We need YOUR help to oversee and manage all of the below. - **Project Structure**: Projects often succeed or fail depending on how they were defined and structured. Your job will be to help our teams structure their work for the optimal outcomes. - ** Contract Revision**: We are expecting you to help the PM to step into the project with the right foot. Thoroughly reviewing the contract and making the necessary amendment to reduce high-impact and high-probable risks is part of your job. - ** Budget & Resource Tracking**:We start engaging the project with definite planned resources (time, cost, man-power). You will help the PM team to monitor them across projects and take immediate actions when witnessing some early warnings. - ** Client Negotiation**: For any delivery projects, when time is tough, you will act as a gatekeeper to clarify, negotiate, or invent win-win solutions if possible for any issues between client, possibly manager level or C-level, and MAQE team. - ** Expectation Management**: We mostly work with Agile. But few customers actually have Agile experience. Your job will be to help us manage right expectations and align working culture among all parties. - ** Process Improvement**: We’re a customized service provider meaning we tailor-made most everything to fit our customer’s needs. Your job will be to help us implement the right processes at the right time, while balancing flexibility and creativity to create the best value for our customers. - **Knowledge Sharing & Training**: We’ve got a fab team of Project Managers. It’ll be your job to instruct, mentor, and coach them for career growth and fulfillment. You will also be in charge of growing your team of PMs to fill all our project's needs. We typically run 10 - 15 projects at any one time. The projects span from small retainers to large fixed-price, long-term projects involving 20+ people. Most projects are using Agile methods. Apart from the above, on the path to become a C-level at MAQE, you will also be involved in the Company Circle at large to help drive the company as a whole forward and help set the strategy on the Business & Projects side.. **What you can offer**: We don’t care about age, gender, ethnicity, work experience, or education etc. Life has taught us that greatness comes in all shapes and sizes. However, the things we believe would make you a good fit for this position are: - ** Experience leading Agile projects is a must**. Relevant certifications (e.g., CSPO, CSM, or LeSS) are nice to have. - Previous **experience working in professional services (i.e., consulting) is a must**. Having worked in an enterprise environment is a bonus. - Assertiveness (self-assured and confident without being aggressive) in 1-1 communication is an absolute must for this role. Couple with the ability to facilitate working with others and create common goals between all parties. To succeed at MAQE, you will also need to bring the following traits. - Our main internal communication is English. **For this role, it is a requirement that you speak both Thai and English confidently.
