Intern - Library/information Management [temporary]

cataloguing books, serials and multimedia materials in the Library's integrated library system (ILS) and institutional repository;.
improving the metadata and records in the digital repository to increase exposure to ESCAP research;.
assisting in the Library's digitization efforts;.
assisting in collection management activities (shelving, weeding, etc.);.
assisting in reference and circulation services;.
taking part in the Library's information and knowledge management tasks and initiatives; and.
performing other related work, as required.

b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).

LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required for the internship programme. Knowledge of an additional UN ESCAP Working Language (Chinese, French, and Russian) is an asset.
**Special Notice REMOTE INTERNSHIPS (COVID-19)**: In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, applicants may be requested to undertake the internship remotely in view of constraints regarding visa issuance, international travel and access to UN premises. Applicants must be willing and prepared to undertake the internship remotely for a part or the entirety of the internship.
