The TRADE, INVESTMENT AND INNOVATION DIVISION is looking for a communications/operational intern who will support the work of Technology and Innovation Section for three (3) to six (6) months, pending on the needs of the department. The intern will provide support to two specific areas of work: inclusive business (IB).

They provide market opportunities to enterprises; they provide above market-rate income opportunities and access to affordable essential goods and services for low income and marginalised groups; and they help governments deliver affordable goods and services and lift people out of poverty at scale. This movement will be supported by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), who in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, have recently launched the “Regional Inclusive Business Models in Agriculture and Food Systems” initiative with the aim to accelerate the adoption of and promote innovative business models that support inclusive agricultural transformation in India, Viet Nam and a third country to be determined.

The main objectives of this internship are listed below:

- To design, implement and maintain an inclusive business programme communication strategy and key communications channels.
- To support the implementation of inclusive business programme activities.

The internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.

**Responsibilities**:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of the Technology and Innovation Section, Trade, Investment and Innovation Division, and the direct supervision of one of the Programme Officer of the Section.

Programme website
1. Finalize website content and maintain as needed

Social media
1. Draft social media strategy (including key hashtags and handles)
2. Launch a social media campaign with available communications materials (website, company profiles, country profiles, blog)
3. Maintain social media platforms active (regular social media posts)
4. Review and source social media posts from available programme materials including notes and videos

Communications Strategy
1. Support team develop a strategy and key communications messages
2. Support team create communications partnerships with key partners
3. Support team develop a pitch
4. Support and maintain a communications monitoring system

Programme implementation
1. Support and facilitate the organization of meetings, events, webinars and other (online) activities.
2. Draft communication materials (two pagers, blogs, news items, etc) and support dissemination efforts for ESCAP knwolesdge products.
3. Produce meeting summaries and notes when required.
4. Assist in the review and formatting of documents (including invitations, reports, manuals, etc)
5. Support the development and implementation of registration and M&E systems.
6. Research specific topics and support the development of knowledge products.
7. Complete adhoc administrative work including database management, (amongs others).
