About The Job

In this position, you will drive efforts to maintain and develop Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management systems in accordance with relevant standards. You will be responsible for assessing and ensuring compliance with HSE legislation, as well as adhering to Alfa Laval’s HSE policies and strategies within the South East Asian region.

Additionally, you will coordinate and manage HSE activities and projects, fostering a strong HSE mindset and developing competencies across the organization. In this position you will also lead the HSE Team for the region.

Job Description

  • Ensure business compliance with local legal requirements, international standards, and Alfa Laval group directives.
  • Collaborate with all levels of the business to maintain and develop a strong and positive health and safety culture that drives performance and positive work outputs.
  • Harness interpersonal skills to build strong relationships and promote health and safety as a supportive and enabling function.
  • Provide competent health and safety advice and support across all business areas.
  • Develop and deliver internal training on key topics such as risk management and incident investigation.
  • Support line management with effective end-to-end incident investigations, focusing on learning lessons and finding improvements.
  • Support management in large-scale growth / change management projects, such as facility relocations and service centre outfitting.
  • Maintain a visible presence, traveling to customer sites and remote locations to engage with Field Service Engineers and satellite offices.
  • Champion a progressive approach to safety, looking to continuously improve processes and the health and safety management system.
  • Lead external third-party health and safety audits (i.e. accreditation schemes) and supports the internal Quality Advisor and other key stakeholders
  • Assist line management in conducting risk assessments and implementing practical control measures, including cost-benefit analysis.
  • Represent Southeast Asia in the Global Service Operations HSE Community, sharing best practices, providing feedback on initiatives, and identifying common areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate and monitor statutory inspections (e.g. lifting equipment, pressure systems, LEV).

What You Know

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or related fields.
  • Proven track record in a similar role (preferably in a service environment), managing health and safety across multiple sites.
  • Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation, codes of practice, and industry guidelines.
  • Ability to quickly identify core issues and prioritize critical aspects.
  • Capable of assessing potential consequences of various actions swiftly
  • Adapts and combines different skills and knowledge for maximum efficiency
  • Acts with confidence and clarity in decision-making and execution, even in situations with ambiguity or unknown elements.
  • Flexible and proactive in managing workload and priorities independently, with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, results-focused, and proven ability to build and develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management.
  • High levels of integrity and credibility, with the willingness to challenge the business to ensure adherence to ethical standards and doing the right thing.
  • Maintains a positive attitude in the face of setbacks and challenges.
