Shift DCS Engineer-Production

Responsible :

  • Operate and monitor process parameters through the DCS system to maintain stable and efficient plant performance.
  • Respond to alarms and deviations by taking corrective actions promptly.
  • Ensure product quality and yield targets are met as per defined specifications.
  • Strictly follow safety standards, SOPs, and Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedures.
  • Ensure interlocks, safety controls, and emergency systems are functioning properly.
  • Report and escalate any unsafe conditions or process deviations.
  • Assist the Shift Incharge in coordinating production activities across units.
  • Ensure smooth startups, shutdowns, and emergency handling via DCS operations.
  • Maintain continuous communication with field operators for effective coordination.
  • Identify abnormal process trends and assist in troubleshooting operational issues.
  • Support maintenance teams during equipment breakdowns, ensuring safe isolation and restoration.
  • Provide technical inputs for root cause analysis (RCA) of recurring issues.
  • Record production data, downtime, process deviations, and corrective actions in shift logs.
  • Generate daily MIS reports and escalate critical issues to the Shift Incharge/Manager.
  • Maintain compliance with audit and documentation standards.
  • Act as the responsible DCS person for handling emergency activities and proper interlock checking and no bypass of SOP.

Qualification :

  • Bachelor in Chemical Engineering / Process Control or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in process industries (preferably Carbon Black, Petrochemical, Refinery, or Chemical Plant) with DCS operations exposure.
  • Experience in Carbon Black Manufacturing or similar processes will be preferred
  • Process optimization and improvements
  • DCS handling
  • Performance management and people management
  • SAP, MS Excel
  • Good command of English.
  • (preferably Carbon Black, Petrochemical, Chemical, or Refinery).
