What You'll Work On
The Managing Director, ASEAN aligns global strategic objectives and regional center direction to develop and execute sales and marketing strategies, activities, and policies to grow revenue in assigned countries.
Directs all local operations that enable Campbell Scientific systems, projects, services, and solutions to be profitably delivered, and to meet and exceed local client expectations. Ensures that local customer support is delivered to the highest standards of technical rigor and that Campbell Scientific is considered the foremost trusted advisor for the delivery of measurement information and actionable insights.
Contributes as a leader in the global Campbell Scientific organization by championing local client needs and by being recognized as a trusted advisor, influencer, and ambassador for Campbell Scientific. Manages all day-to-day operations of the regional office including management of employees, customers, vendors, partners, assets, and finances. Motivates, influences, and energizes a high performing regional office team.
You'll Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key Tasks
- Create and maintain a strong culture in accordance with Campbell Scientific's core ARCTIC values—Accountable, Respectful, Client-Centric, Team Player, Innovative, Continually Improve.
- Manage regional office resources within budget according to current local laws and regulations.
- Manage the human resources of the regional office according to authorized personnel policies and procedures that conform to current local laws and regulations.
- Assure that Campbell Scientific's mission, activities, products, and services are consistently presented in a strong and positive image to local clients and partners.
- Develop and deliver an operational plan to the regional director that aligns with the overall strategy.
- Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively execute the strategy.
- Create and manage regional office short-term and long-term goals.
- Develop, implement, and maintain an employee recruitment and retention strategy/program (including compensation strategy and structure) that aligns with local needs.
- Ensure that policies, processes, and procedures exist to enable growth in assigned countries and comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
- Maintain standards of performance and conduct performance reviews.
- Create an environment with a positive team culture, team motivation, and staff engagement.
- Staff planning, salary & bonus recommendations.
- Direct local public relations and community participation efforts.
- Direct efforts to identify and win environmental, renewable energy, and infrastructure sales opportunities.
- Collaborate and align with the regional center director and market group leadership to create and own the regional office revenue and expense budget.
- Oversee and direct all regional office functions, including administration, sales and marketing, manufacturing and operations, and research and development in accordance with the assigned scope of the regional office.
- Oversee the deployment of resources from the regional office in support of the Campbell Scientific strategy.
- Direct the creation of all sales and operating plans for the regional office.
- Build and foster relationships that create trust, open dialogue, and full transparency.
- Motivate the regional office team to act and engage them with a compelling mission and vision.
- Drive outcomes with the ability to overcome adversity and resistance.
- Drive continuous improvement throughout the regional office.
- Report monthly and quarterly results.
- Delivers top line sales revenue in region.
- Oversee operating budget and overall office profit.
- Ensure profitable and efficient delivery of solutions and services to local clients.
- Drive market share growth in the local region.
- Ensure regular communication of all local market intelligence, market needs, competitive insights, and challenges to the regional center director and global market groups.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or scientific field.
- Master's degree in business administration or equivalent business management experience in the environmental monitoring industry.
- 10+ years of experience leading and managing sales and marketing teams and business operations in the field of environmental instrumentation and data solutions.
- Excellent knowledge of Campbell Scientific product line; multiple years of experience using the products.
- Demonstrated ability to direct the efforts of regional sales and marketing teams within a global organization.
- Demonstrated ability to direct profitable business operations.
- Ability to build long-term relationships and network effectively within the industry.
Work Environment
Office work environment and travel environment (travelling to meet with clients, potential clients and to conferences).
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to travel internationally on a regular basis 25% or more of the time.
