GPO Commodity Manager – Thailand

The GPO Commodity Manager is responsible is responsible for setting up of Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) in Thailand to capitalize on low- cost country sourcing opportunity to reduce the cost for Ali brands worldwide by closely working with the GPO team in China and the sourcing team in each brand ; Exploring arising saving opportunities in Thailand and other low cost countries in Asia ; mitigate the supply chain risk that caused by the geopolitics .

This position report directly to the Sourcing Director APAC

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Progressive purchasing sourcing in process equipment industry or assigned commodities plus 5-10 years
  • Solid functional experience in procurement/supply chain management, manufacturing operation.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Technical degree background preferred along with Purchasing.
  • Develop sourcing strategies to meet cost, quality, and delivery goals. Supplier
  • QC/QA, logistics and program management experience a plus.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Work closely with GPO team in China and Purchasing teams in each brand to align the global purchasing strategy, identify low-cost country sourcing opportunities, set up cost saving project pipeline and lead to realize the saving for Ali brands.

  2. Proactively explore the new supplier data base, supplier evaluation, supplier audit and performance follow up per company standards.

  3. Manage the sourcing activities and projects using the standard certification, evaluation risk, strategic supplier, Sourcing Enterprise processes and NPI processes to ensure all supply chain values are met.

  4. Comply with Welbilt standard purchasing process to ensure obtain best TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). Communicate with OCs on all Asia based projects progress to resolve issues and barriers and accelerate the process.

  5. Take ownership of the supplier relationships for the assigned supply base and actively manage the related projects. Recommend sourcing activities to support the commodity strategy. Liaison with suppliers to provide low-cost sourcing parts and components.

  6. Coordinate agreements at the regional level by leading contract negotiations and establishing General Terms of Contracts for relevant projects.

  7. Build up relevant procedures and communicate with stakeholders for implementation from opportunity identification through successful project handover. Coordinate synergies across the GPO team in China

  8. Organize supplier panel for the relevant suppliers sourced in APAC to drive continuous improvement

  9. Provide monthly report to the leadership team for review. Participate in related Budget and Re-establish process when necessary. Participate in global meetings and conference calls, coordinate global or regional supply Chain programs.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or above; preferably in Science and Technology or related fields
  • More than 5 years' experience on strategy sourcing

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge in foodservice/ process equipment or relevant industry will be a plus
  • Result-oriented with the mindset to get things done
  • Analytical and Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to stand, sit for prolonged periods of time.
