  • Be the brand ambassador in the market. Align with company brand strategy and increase the awareness of Hapag -Lloyd in Thailand and Cambodia, while building and fostering a positive company culture, - Build and lead strategic plans and initiatives to ensure that the company is well positioned to industry trends, expansion opportunities, and competitive threats.

Performance

  • Work directly with Area MD to ensure all country's sales/commercial related goals and key performance matrices are met,
  • Facilitate and have oversight over CS, Ops and BA which are under the functional control of QSC Kuala Lumpur
  • Liaise with Sales Director in ASE on strategy and sales related matters
  • Directly accountable for the business unit's overall performance and P&L by working in close cooperation with Quality Service Centre – Kuala Lumpur
  • Oversee the sales optimization and allocation of vessel space in country by providing commercial feedback on customers' performance, cargo prioritization, market conditions, customer information flow and negotiation of customer allocation with trade management
  • Oversee the optimization and performance of procurement activities; active involvement in local vendor negotiations and supporting Regional Procurement during vendor negotiations (regional feeder tender, terminal tender etc.).

Day to Day Operations

  • Oversee company setup and all related administration, legal and governance issues
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company
  • Identification of additional cost saving potentials
  • Keep Overhead costs under control in line with Budget
  • Have oversight of payroll creation and process in Country
  • Ensure strict compliance to Country's laws and regulations
  • Ensure strict compliance of Hapag-Lloyd Guidelines & Policies
  • Work with Operational colleagues to improve key vendor operational efficiencies and productivity.

Leadership & Management

  • To lead, build and empower local talents. Partner with HR to ensure to have the right and the strongest staff members in the right positions.

Segmented Vertical Ownership

  • Develop (in coordination with Sales Director) & execute sales strategy for assigned Vertical in S.E Asia.
  • Establish KPIs and drive accountability for performance within the vertical
  • Act as the central liaison for assigned Vertical between internal stakeholders.
  • Moderator of day-to-day concerns amongst the countries (Verticals)
  • Ensure high-quality sales / tender pipeline management and forecast accuracy across the vertical.
  • Conducts regular meetings with SV sales teams across ASE and joint meetings with SV customer service team.
  • Area sponsor for SV related initiatives and campaigns.

Other Initiatives

  • Maintain good relationship with local government and port authorities.

Qualifications

    • Possess several years of comprehensive management experience in liner shipping business in general
    • Excellent command of spoken and written English and/or native language

  • Can work under press and possess grit, tenacity, and willingness to make things work
  • Building and developing relationships with both MR and 'Geo From' key customers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of user application systems (FIS, SAM, MS Office)
