G E N E R A L D E S C R I P T I O N
Ruamrudee International School (RIS) is seeking a caring, collaborative, and committed Middle School Values Teacher who will lead, inspire, and promote student learning.
Our K-12 Values program is internally-developed and explores the following core themes through the lens of international mindedness and compassion:
Living with Peace and Harmony, Human Dignity, Family and Community, Solidarity with the underprivileged, and Environmental Stewardship.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of education, adolescent development, and the power of the arts and reflection to foster belonging, identity, and confidence in young people. They will embrace RIS's teaching principles, ensuring that instruction and learning experiences nurture not only knowledge and skills but also positive behavior, social-emotional growth, and a strong sense of community.
RIS values educators who create inclusive classrooms where all students feel safe, respected, and engaged. By modeling reflection, collaboration, and compassion, the Values teacher will empower students to see themselves as capable, confident learners who contribute meaningfully to their school and the wider world.

R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S
- Teach Values courses to the three Middle School grades: Values and Equality (Grade 6), Values and Global Citizenship (Grade 7), Values and Human Relationships (Grade 8)
- Design unit maps and instruction using backward planning (UbD), planning for and integrating inquiry, collaboration, and creative problem-solving
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners and embed SEL competencies—such as self-awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making—into classroom and performance work
- Actively engage in service learning initiatives, including participation in and support of fundraising activities.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of the annual school-wide Peace Assembly to help foster a culture of reflection, respect, and community.
- Foster positive behavior and belonging by establishing a supportive ensemble culture where every student has a valued role
- Use standards-based assessment and reporting to provide clear feedback on student growth and achievement
- Collaborate with colleagues in the K-12 Values department and across disciplines to design interdisciplinary opportunities
- Model and uphold RIS's professional expectations, including its commitment to child safeguarding
N E C E S S A R Y S K I L L S & E X P E R I E N C E
- Strong classroom management grounded in positive behavior supports and restorative practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and community stakeholders.
- Experience in differentiation, inquiry-based instruction, and integration of SEL into learning.
- Knowledge of Google Suite and educational technology tools for collaboration and creative production.
- Enthusiasm for working in a multicultural, international environment.
Q u a l i f i c a t i o n s & r e q u i r e m e n t s
- Current middle school teaching license with a recommendation of certification in Social Studies or the broader Human Sciences; however, any candidate with a passion in teaching social justice and compassion can be considered
- Master's degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience teaching in an accredited secondary school.
