ES ELD Teacher

G E N E R A L     D E S C R I P T I O N

RIS - Ratchapruek Campus (RISR) seeks an enthusiastic and engaging English Language Development (ELD) teacher for our Elementary School program who will lead, inspire, and promote student learning through a collaborative co-teaching model. The applicant should be an experienced, certified teacher currently working at the Primary School level. Additionally, the candidate should be knowledgeable about the WIDA model, language and literacy development in students, subject-area content, best practices in an inquiry-based approach, differentiation, and assessment for student learning. The applicant should have experience with collaborative curriculum designs and be well-versed in unit development using backward planning. The applicant will collaborate regularly with department team members, subject teachers, school leaders, and the Director of Student Support to ensure that instruction meets the needs of each student. The applicant must also have a proven record of success in assisting classroom teachers and other instructional staff to develop strategies, skills, tools, and techniques to effectively teach English Language Learners (ELLs).

Enthusiasm for engaging Middle School learners:

• Experience and certification for teaching at the Middle School level
• Proven track record of success in advancing student proficiency
• Experience in co-teaching models

Knowledge about:

• WIDA model (WIDA 2020 framework)
• Language and literacy development in students
• Subject-area content integration
• Data-driven, targeted instruction to support diverse learners

Best practices in:

• Inquiry-based approaches
• Differentiation for all learners
• Assessment for student learning

Proven ability to develop and deliver successful academic programs

Participation in current and relevant professional development

Ability to ensure instruction meets the needs of all students through data-informed decisions

Administration of the WIDA Screener to applying Middle School students who may need to be admitted to our ELD program

Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders

Willingness to be an active participant in collaborative processes:

• Regular co-planning and co-teaching meetings with grade-level teachers and department colleagues..

At least two years of experience teaching and working with English Language Learners at an accredited Secondary School

Master's in Bilingual or Multilingual Education, TESOL, or related field

Current English Language Development teacher certification (i.e. TESOL, ELS Endorsement, CELTA)
