Job Title: Regional Sales Manager

Job Purpose:

Regional Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing the General Trade sales channel to drive revenue growth, market share, and profitability. This role involves developing and executing strategic plans, managing distributor relationships, leading a high-performing sales team, and ensuring effective execution of trade marketing initiatives across traditional retail channels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the General Trade sales strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Identify growth opportunities and drive market expansion in line with company goals.
  • Lead and manage the GT sales team to achieve sales targets and KPIs.
  • Monitor sales performance, analyze trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure effective coverage and penetration of the GT channel.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors and key trade partners.
  • Oversee distributor performance, including sales targets, inventory management, and compliance.
  • Manage distributor relationships and performance to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing GT sales team.
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide regular coaching and feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Trade Marketing team to plan and execute in-store promotions and visibility initiatives.
  • Ensure excellence in execution at the point of sale.
  • Manage GT sales budgets and ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and contribute to business planning.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategy.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in sales in GT
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing large sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of the FMCG/Consumer Goods industry and GT dynamics.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
