Role Overview

The Segment Application Manager provides technical pre-sales support to global sales managers and customers by translating customer needs into clear and feasible RMA modification configurations. This role ensures that customer requirements are accurately captured, technically validated and communicated to PDD and cross-functional teams, enabling faster quotations, higher win rates and reduced engineering confusion.

This role bridges Global Sales, Centre of Excellence (Product Development Department) and Customers, without overlapping with engineering design responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Global Sales Managers with technical pre-sales input, customer requirement analysis, and preparation of segment-specific technical proposals.
  • Conduct customer technical consultations (onsite and virtual), gathering operational needs, regulatory requirements, environment constraints, and application-specific details.
  • Translate customer requirements into RMA modification configurations.
  • Coordinate technical clarifications with PDD, ensuring complete and accurate information is submitted while avoiding unnecessary engineering change requests.
  • Prepare preliminary layouts, specification outlines, and application notes using RMA standard  playbooks.
  • Support Commercial Operations  teams with technical input, compliance matrices, and documentation for RFQs/tenders.
  • Maintain segment technical knowledge bases (best practices, standard options, regional regulations, testing/validation requirements, lessons learned).
  • Provide internal training and coaching to new global  managers and sales teams on product capability, technical constraints, and application standards.

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • 10 years of technical experience in automotive, special vehicles, industrial equipment, medical vehicles, defense, or engineering projects.
  • Strong technical literacy (vehicle systems, electrical loads, integration logic, regulatory standards, safety requirements) with the ability to interpret engineering information .
  • Excellent customer-facing and communication skills, capable of engaging with global customers, understanding operational use cases, and aligning technical solutions with sales strategies.
  • Cross-functional coordination ability, working effectively with Sales, Commercial Operations, R&D, Manufacturing, and external OEM/medical equipment partners;
  • Strong English capability required.
