Job Summary

The SAP Consultant will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the SAP Application Management Services (AMS) team. This role is responsible for coordinating incident resolution, monitoring Change Requests (R4C), supporting solution design activities, and ensuring effective communication between functional users and technical teams. The consultant will participate in governance forums, track service performance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across SAP processes.

Key Responsibilities

Business & AMS Coordination

Act as the main point of contact between Key Users, GPDOs, and the AMS support team.

Facilitate clear communication for issue resolution, requirements gathering, and ongoing support activities.

Incident & Change Request Management

Track, monitor, and report the progress of tickets and Change Requests (R4C).

Review and explain Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for incidents to business stakeholders.

Ensure timely follow-up and closure of all assigned issues.

Solution Design & Documentation

Collaborate with AMS and technical teams to coordinate solution design and effort estimation for enhancements and changes.

Prepare and review key documentation such as Functional Specifications, Test Scripts/Test Cases, and user acceptance materials.

Support testing cycles and validate deliverables before deployment.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

Participate in monthly governance meetings with Key Users and GPDOs.

Provide updates on open issues, RCA findings, and ongoing improvements.

Identify process optimization opportunities and propose best practices for SAP system usage.

Functional Expertise & Communication

Maintain a strong understanding of relevant SAP module functionalities.

Translate business requirements into technical language and vice versa.

Guide users on SAP processes, features, and improvements.

Qualifications & Skills

Required

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or related field.

Experience supporting SAP modules: (e.g.

Manufacturing

Commercial

Procurement

FI/CO/BPC

Authorization

Basis

CI

BW).

Strong understanding of SAP incident and change management processes.

Ability to create Functional Specs and test documentation.

Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Preferred

Experience working with SAP AMS support environments.

Knowledge of ITIL processes.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
