As a global multinational insurance corporation, AIG makes thousands of payment transactions monthly, both domestic and international, in a multitude of currencies.  Timely and accurate payments are an essential part of the business, regardless of whether they are for policyholders, business partners, government organizations, employees, or other entities within the AIG group.  Additionally, we constantly strive to evolve our Advanced Payments capabilities through adopting new technologies and optimizing our processes.

About the role

What you need to know:

Oversee Accounts Payable function in ensuring payment transactions are accurate, timely, and compliant with local and overseas regulations and AIG policies and standards. This includes:

• Verify/Approve Payment Requisitions.
• Handle a complex payment for the three AIG entities in Thailand, including foreign currency payments for claims and reinsurance, distributor compensation and shareholder dividend payments.
• Responsible for Tax related to payments e.g. VAT, withholding tax etc.
• Control and process on month-end closing for AP function and ensure accurately post to SAP GL.
• Handle AP systems for payment recording such as
  • SAP AP – process month-end closing, clear variance, open ticket to solve any issues etc.
  • Computron - AP subledger e.g. posting AP transaction, daily update parameters for maintenance & bank accounts, vendor profiles, history, and other reports etc.
  • CONCUR for staff reimbursement.
• Resolve payment-related issues and handle inquiries to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payments.

Issue Journal Voucher for accrual recurring expenses, cost center allocation and any payment related adjustment. Perform & clear Balance Sheets reconciliations related to Accounts Payable, e.g. accrual expense, suspense for Concur, duty stamp fund etc. Prepare AP related reports as per NY and local requirement, e.g. foreign inward & outward payments to the regulator, etc. Participate in new / special / complex projects, requirements or assignments, including developing requirements and oversee user tests for payment systems and build more data interfaces for the bank systems. Lead, manage and guide AP team included support team on problem solving. Make recommendations regarding hiring/firing and conducts performance appraisals; orient and train subordinates and administer human resources policies.

What we're looking for:

• A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred.
• More than 5 years of relevant experience in Account Payable or Finance, preferably in an insurance company.
• Business level Thai (written/spoken).  Business level for written English a must, for spoken English preferred.
• Familiarity with Thailand's indirect taxes, taxes on foreign payments, and related tax submission
• Experience with leadership roles and display problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with employees, superiors, and external parties.
• Strong analytical and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Well planned, organized with keen attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills with prior experience working with accounting software and MS Office i.e. Excel, Word and Powerpoint
