The Vice President – Technical is responsible for
end-to-end technical governance and operational excellence
of the manufacturing plant, ensuring
asset reliability, safety, sustainability, and readiness for global standards and smart factory transformation
.
Scope of Responsibility
The role has full strategic and operational accountability for the following functions across the entire plant:
- Maintenance (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation)
- Automation & Smart Factory Systems
- Utilities (Boiler, Chiller, Air, Energy, Fuel)
- Electrical Systems
- Water System (Raw Water, Treatment, Production Water, Wastewater)
- Facility & Infrastructure
- TPM – Maintenance Pillar Leadership
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership & Governance
- Provide strategic leadership in defining and deploying a
plant-wide technical and process strategy
aligned with
global manufacturing, engineering, and operational excellence standards
. - Establish and govern
end-to-end technical and operational processes
, engineering standards, and
compliance frameworks
across all technical functions to ensure
standardization, discipline, and scalability
. - Ensure full compliance with
Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Regulatory requirements
, embedding compliance into daily processes. - Act as the
single point of accountability for technical and process-related risks
, proactively identifying, assessing, and eliminating high-impact risks across the plant. - Lead and drive
technical and process transformation initiatives
, including TPM maturity, reliability excellence, and smart factory enablement, ensuring sustainable adoption and measurable business impact.
2. TPM – Maintenance Pillar Leadership
- Serve as
Head of Maintenance Pillar
in TPM deployment. - Lead implementation of
Planned Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance
. - Drive reduction of:
- Equipment breakdown
- Repeat failures
- Maintenance cost
- MTBF variability
- Ensure TPM maturity progression aligned with
World Class Manufacturing benchmarks
.
3. Asset Reliability & Performance Excellence
- Ensure optimal asset lifecycle management from design to operation.
- Establish and track
OEE, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance
, and asset health KPIs. - Establish
root cause analysis (RCA) processes
for major breakdowns, PSF, and chronic losses. - Drive reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) practices.
4. Automation & Smart Factory Transformation
- Define and execute the
automation and digital roadmap
. - Integrate MES, data acquisition, predictive analytics, and condition monitoring.
- Ensure technology adoption is matched with
people capability and process readiness
. - Collaborate with Operations, IT, and People teams to enable scalable smart factory systems.
5. Utilities, Energy & Water Systems Management
- Ensure reliable, efficient, and safe operation of all utility systems.
- Drive
energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost optimization initiatives
. - Oversee water system integrity, compliance, and risk management.
- Ensure wastewater treatment and environmental compliance meet regulatory and corporate standards.
6. Facility & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee plant infrastructure, buildings, and critical facilities.
- Ensure facilities support
food safety, GMP, safety, and operational flow
. - Lead capital investment planning and execution for infrastructure projects.
7. Safety, Quality & Risk Management
- Act as a
technical safety leader
, ensuring elimination of high-risk technical hazards. - Ensure robust
Process Safety, Electrical Safety, Mechanical Safety
, and Energy Isolation systems. - Lead technical input into
PSF identification, escalation, and prevention
. - Support ZERO incident ambition through engineering controls.
8. People & Capability Development
- Build and lead a
high-performing technical leadership team
. - Define competency frameworks and skill matrices for all technical functions.
- Develop future technical leaders and successors.
- Promote a culture of
standard discipline, ownership, and continuous improvement
.
9. Capital Project & Investment Management
- Own the
CAPEX strategy and governance
for technical investments. - Ensure projects are delivered
on time, on budget, and to specification
. - Lead cross-functional project teams for major expansions or upgrades.
Key Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering
- (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or related fields)
- Minimum
15–20 years
in MNC and Food & Beverage is preferred - At least
5–7 years
in a senior leadership role (Plant Engineering Head, Engineering Director, Technical Director) - Proven experience leading
TPM / WCM / Lean Maintenance - Strong exposure to
automation and digital manufacturing systems - Experience managing utilities, energy, water, and facility systems at scale
