Overview

Lead government relations, regulatory strategy, and public policy engagement for large-scale data center developments, including hyperscale, colocation, and edge facilities. This role supports site selection, permitting, construction, expansion, and operations across multiple jurisdictions and advises senior leadership on regulatory and political risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead government and regulatory engagement across national, regional, and local authorities.
  • Develop and execute strategies to secure zoning, land-use, environmental, construction, and operational approvals.
  • Manage government interaction related to power, grid connectivity, energy sourcing, water usage, and sustainability compliance.
  • Monitor and influence policies affecting digital infrastructure, cloud services, and critical infrastructure.
  • Support hyperscale campus developments, multi-tenant colocation compliance, and rapid deployment of edge sites.
  • Advise senior leadership and partner with legal, real estate, construction, energy, and operations teams.
  • Lead community and stakeholder engagement and represent the organization in industry forums.
  • Ensure compliance with lobbying, ethics, and government engagement regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or law degree preferred.
  • 12+ years' experience in government affairs, regulatory affairs, or public policy within data centers, digital infrastructure, energy, or large-scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of land use, utilities, environmental permitting, and infrastructure regulation.
  • Proven ability to engage senior government stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
