Responsibility

Technical Cost Development

  • Own, manage, and execute Material Cost Reduction (MCR) projects through Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) and manufacturing process improvement.
  • Conduct Target Cost Analysis, BOM review, product teardown, and develop Should Cost Modeling to support negotiation efforts.
  • Propose design changes/redesigns of new parts using 3D CAD/2D CAD software (e.g., Creo, AutoCAD) to improve material or process costs without compromising product quality and performance.

Sourcing & Supplier Management

  • Perform strategic sourcing, quotation, price analysis, and vendor selection & qualification for technical parts and raw materials.
  • Develop and maintain key suppliers, including contract negotiation, performance evaluation, factory audit, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve material quality and on-time delivery issues.

NPI & Operations

  • Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) and plant development projects to ensure a smooth transition from Pilot Run to Mass Production, adhering to target costs.
  • Optimize facility layouts and production lines to reduce in-house manufacturing time and costs.
  • Support special project procurement for new machinery, equipment, and tooling purchases.

Skills and Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Design, Mechanical, Industrial) or Supply Chain.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Cost Development/Reduction, Strategic Sourcing, Product Design, R&D, or Supplier Development in relevant industries.

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong expertise in Target Costing, Should Cost Modeling, VA/VE, and Economies of Scale.
  • Solid understanding of BOM (Bill of Materials), engineering drawings, and material specifications/properties (e.g., sheet metal, copper, PCB, electrical components).

Software Skills

  • Proficient in 3D CAD (e.g., Creo) and 2D CAD (e.g., AutoCAD) for design and modification.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for cost analysis.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.

Strategic & Business Skills

  • Strong Business Acumen and excellent negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms and Category Management.

General Skills

  • Systematic, structured, and detail-oriented working style.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
