The role

We are seeking a talented Purchasing Engineer to join our dynamic team at Nidec Electronics (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in Ayutthaya. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving the procurement and inventory management strategies that support the company's manufacturing and logistics operations.

Key responsibilities

  1. Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices, quality, and timely delivery of materials and components
  2. Manage and optimise inventory levels to meet production demands while minimising excess or obsolete stock
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely availability of materials and the smooth flow of goods
  4. Analyse market trends, supplier performance, and inventory data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  5. Participate in the development and implementation of purchasing policies and procedures
  6. Support the resolution of supply chain issues and contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's procurement and logistics functions

What we're looking for

  1. Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  2. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a purchasing or supply chain role, preferably in the manufacturing industry
  3. Strong negotiation and communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  4. Proficient in data analysis and the use of procurement and inventory management software
  5. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  6. Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
