Purpose Lead and execute mechanical capital and engineering projects in Thailand as an individual contributor, ensuring equipment and technology meet business needs. Standardize mechanical engineering practices across ASEAN, oversee the capital portfolio, and help build Thailand's mechanical engineering capabilities.

Job Description

  • Develop and review basic/detailed equipment specifications and perform mechanical design calculations
  • Design and validate machine designs, including FEA, material selection, load and stress analysis
  • Provide hands-on mechanical engineering support throughout design, execution, and commissioning
  • Govern mechanical engineering standards and drive equipment standardization across ASEAN
  • Support project management and ensure compliance with mechanical standards and local regulations
  • Strengthen in-country technical capabilities (individual contributor role – no direct reports)
  • Support talent development for mechanical engineering skill pool
  • Promote a zero-harm safety culture through safe design and construction risk assessments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related
  • 7+ years' experience in mechanical design/engineering for heavy metal industry (Cold Rolling Mills, Strip Processing Lines, Color Paint Lines, Furnaces)
  • Strong skills in piping, thermal, hydraulic systems, bearing selection, rotating machinery, gearboxes, transmissions, and machine/material design
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, 3D design, SolidWorks, and FEA
  • Strong leadership in technical decision-making (individual contributor, not a people manager)
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and coaching skills
  • Good command of English
