M&A Management Trainee

We're looking for an
M&A Management Trainee
to work directly under our M&A Manager and help build the SME deal team at Max Solutions. Think of this less as an "internship" and more as a
paid apprenticeship
with a clear path to becoming a
Junior M&A Manager
if we're a good match.

Why this role exists

Max Solutions is a boutique M&A advisory focused on
Thai SMEs m THB deals)
. Most of our clients are first-time sellers and family businesses. They don't need more buzzwords. They need someone who can listen, think clearly, and help them get a fair deal done.

We already have analysts and interns who can build models and slides.

What we want to add is a
Management Trainee
who can:

• Sit close to the M&A Manager and see how real deals are run end‑to‑end.
• Take ownership of small but important workstreams and grow that ownership over time.
• Learn how to move between
  numbers, documents, and people
  without getting lost.

This is for someone who is serious about building a long‑term career in M&A, not just collecting a line on their CV.

What you will actually do

You'll work side‑by‑side with the M&A Manager on active mandates. Over time, you'll touch every part of the deal:

1. Deal preparation and analysis

• Help turn messy financials into something we can actually use (clean‑up, adjustments, basic analysis).
• Support valuation work: comparables, simple DCFs, sanity checks on assumptions.
• Draft first passes of teasers, CIM sections, and internal memos.

2. Execution support

• Help coordinate information between seller, buyer, accountants, and lawyers.
• Track documents and questions in data rooms and checklists.
• Take structured notes on calls and turn them into clear next‑steps.

3. Management support

• Help the M&A Manager keep deals and team organised: trackers, timelines, follow‑ups.
• Prepare short internal updates on where each deal stands and what is stuck.
• Join working sessions where we fix problems in real time (not after the fact).

4. Learning the manager lens

• Sit in on negotiations and key client conversations when appropriate.
• See how we balance: what the client wants, what the buyer will accept, and what is actually doable.
• Learn how decisions are really made when time, money, and relationships are all on the line.

You will not be asked to "just make slides" in the corner and disappear. If you do good work, people will feel it in the deal.

  Master's in Finance / Accounting / Economics / Business

- Some exposure to corporate finance / valuation / M&A is helpful, but not required if you learn fast.
- Comfortable working in
Thai and English
(most clients are Thai; many materials are in English).

• You are okay being wrong as long as you can learn quickly and not repeat the same mistake.
