Unit Supervisor

The Unit Supervisor (equivalent to Shift Supervisor or Boardman for our New Lactic Acid Plant) is accountable for controlling production activities and monitoring process parameters via Distributed Control System (DCS) in the responsible area to achieve output targets set i.e., safety, quality, and costs.
The Unit Supervisor reports directly to a Shift Manager of Operations team.
Prime role and responsibilities shall include:
Production Processes Control
Monitor and verify production process parameters using DCS or at process sites to ensure compliance with regulations, SOPs, and instructions.
- Analyze and implement solutions for issues within the assigned unit to prevent reoccurrence or adverse effects on other processes.
- Supervise team members in the field relating to production activities to ensure that process parameters in the responsible area are controlled.
- Document process data and operational parameters accurately.
- Compile shift reports and communicate essential information effectively to the succeeding shift on duty.
Productivity and Facility
Engage in production support initiatives including Skill Block training & development programs, TPM, etc.
- Ensure cleanliness and dryness of the assigned field area in accordance with prescribed procedures and standards.
Qualifications and Justifications
- Diploma and above in Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in controlling production process for petrochemical/chemical or oil & gas business.
- Experience in commissioning and start-up is preferred.
- Knowledge and solid skill of DCS for process.
- Good communicative English.
- Good skill of computer esp. MS Office programs.
- Possess functional competency set e.g. Drive for Result, Process Management, Safety Awareness, Problem Solving, Teamwork, Compliance and Communication.
