Lead Learning Support Assistant (Upper KS2)
Are you a passionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant ready to lead and make a significant impact in Key Stage 2?
We are looking for an inspiring and highly organised Lead LSA to join our committed Learning Support Department, focusing on developing academic independence and higher-level skills in Upper KS2. This key position combines direct student support with significant leadership and coordination responsibilities.
You will be instrumental in:
- Overseeing LSA team operations, timetabling, and cover.
- Line managing, mentoring, and onboarding LSAs within Upper KS2.
- Liaising closely with the Upper KS2 LS teachers and class teachers for seamless support.
- Providing targeted support to students, fostering their curriculum access and independence.
- Contributing to broader school duties and departmental initiatives.

- Demonstrates sensitivity in responding to individual needs and exceptional patience and care in nurturing student progress.
- Confident in using initiative and anticipating needs, while working flexibly within a team and taking direction from colleagues.
- Committed to safeguarding, upholding school values, and promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in all aspects of school life.
Must-Haves:
- Secure knowledge and experience in English intervention and support programmes.
- Proven experience teaching and supporting small groups of students.
- Demonstrable experience of managing or leading a team.
- Experience in planning, delivering, and reviewing educational support.
- A strong commitment to and experience of inclusive practice.
Desirable:
- Experience of coordinating and supporting assessments for admissions and referrals.
- Experience working within a larger educational organisation.
- Experience working with a larger team of support staff.
