**JOB PURPOSE**
We are searching for an experienced R&D who is self-starter with strong leadership and business acumen to lead the biggest growth driver category of savory for SEA+ID. The job holds role along two routes: partnership with key Stakeholders in delivering sustainable & profitable category growth and functional excellence roles.
**Main Responsibilities;**
- Lead Bouillon cube and new platforms for formulation development, product testing, specification development, technical risk assessment and co-ordinate with process team for trials execution, ensuring product design delivered.
- Lead R&D activities related to Innovation, Renovation, Cost Optimization, Raw Material Simplification & Resilience projects within SEA+ID Region delivering Unilever Food Retail ambition of growth and margin.
- Plan, execute and monitor technical deliverables of innovation & renovation projects on-time as the Technical Project Leaders (TPL) across R&D functions (formulation, processing, consumer insight, nutrition, packaging,).
- Manage R&D project timelines and milestones in agile ways to drive efficient project execution and coordinate with cross-functional team to deliver projects within budget and comply with quality standards to support category growth agenda.
- Support savory strategic initiatives within SEA+ID aligning with business objectives building category roadmaps, providing category expertise, and managing projects execution.
- Leverage industry trends, consumer insights, and technologies and scientific advancement relevant to product development/improvement.
- Build capabilities with ecosystem of partners and suppliers as per assigned.
- Provide input for communication, telling stories and claims for innovation.
- Manage products compliance with Unilever’s Science-based Nutrition Criteria (USNC) and local legislation in respective countries.
- Establish ingredient & product specifications and complete digital tools/documents ensuring product compliances and documents readiness for product commercialization.
- Supervise R&D lab staff to build capabilities and manage R&D lab ensuring all activities run smoothly met with quality standards and safety.
**Experiences & Qualifications**
- Batchelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science/Food Technology/Product Development or equivalent preferred
- 5-8 years working experience.
- Experience in Foods in particular savory category is preferred.
- Proven track record in managing new product development (NPD) projects and delivery with speed, agility and consistently high standards results.
- Experience in end-to-end innovation management will be preferred.
- Innovative and ‘Can-do’ mindset on getting things done with a balance capabilities of scientific and consumer insights understanding,
- Strong exposure & engagement to cross functional teams and comfortable in working in a matrix organization and a complex environment.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to interact with team members locally and remotely.
