**Organizational Context**:
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, with a network of 191-member National Societies. The overall aim of the IFRC is “to inspire, encourage, facilitate, and promote at all times all forms of humanitarian activities by National Societies with a view to preventing and alleviating human suffering and thereby contributing to the maintenance and promotion of human dignity and peace in the world.” The IFRC works to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people before, during and after disasters, health emergencies and other crises.

The IFRC is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (Movement), together with its member National Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The work of the IFRC is guided by the following fundamental principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.

The IFRC is led by its Secretary General, and has its Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The Headquarters are organized into three main Divisions: (i) National Society Development and Operations Coordination; (ii) Global Relations, Humanitarian Diplomacy and Digitalization; and (iii) Management Policy, Strategy and Corporate Services. The IFRC has five regional offices in Africa, Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, Europe, and the Americas. The IFRC also has country cluster delegation and country delegations throughout the world. Together, the Geneva Headquarters and the field structure (regional, cluster and country) comprise the IFRC Secretariat.

The Country Cluster Delegation (CCD) in Bangkok covers four countries namely Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand and Viet Nam and operates as one joint team to support each country’s National Society. The CCD Bangkok also provides secretariat support to the Southeast Asia Red Cross Red Crescent Networks and represents IFRC with the United Nations ESCAP and other regional organizations based in Bangkok.

The American Red Cross is a member of the IFRC and has its regional office for Asia Pacific in Bangkok, Thailand. This regional office is integrated within the IFRC CCD in Bangkok.

The Disaster Risk Management Intern reports to Regional Response Lead, Asia Pacific, American Red Cross with a technical reporting line to the Deputy Director, Asia Pacific, American Red Cross. The position works through the IFRC CCD Bangkok but supports the work of the American Red Cross in the region.

This is an in-person position with limited remote working option available as per IFRC policy and based on need.

**Job Purpose**:
The purpose of this internship is to provide support to the Integrated disaster risk management work supported in the AP region. The intern will support the Regional Response Lead in Asia Pacific region and also assist the Deputy Regional Director in some tasks.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and finalising response reports, including Quick Action Fund (QAF) reports, under the guidance of the response lead.
- Support the uploading of reports and the updating of relevant trackers and analysis tools on internal project management platform
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and related forums as requested, and support the preparation of minutes of meetings, including key discussion points and action items.
- Contribute to the preparation of quantitative and qualitative analysis notes, concept notes, decision papers, or similar documents under supervision.
- Support the preparation of communication materials on climate-smart integrated programming, including documenting lessons learned, reflections, and good practices for humanitarian diplomacy and potential replication.
- Assist in the development of PowerPoint presentations, infographics, posters, and other audio-visual materials related to integrated disaster management initiatives (including community preparedness, response, recovery, and National Society preparedness and readiness).
- Support coordination and follow-up with country teams, National Headquarters colleagues, and IFRC colleagues, as requested by the response lead.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities (continued)**:

- Assist with scheduling multi-stakeholder meetings across time zones and support related meeting communications.

**Education**:

- University degree (required)

**Experience**:

- Working or volunteering experience in the disaster risk management (preferred)
- Knowledge of the RCRC Movement and/or experience in RCRC related training and programme roll-out (preferred)
