**THE ROLE**

The Chief Operating Officer reports to the Principal. The purpose of the role is to work with the Principal, the owners and the Governing Body to deliver the School’s strategic vision. The COO has responsibility for non-teaching functions and must work closely with the School’s senior leadership to ensure that all services and functions operate effectively and efficiently, and to support its academic and pastoral strategic and operational objectives. The COO will also line-manage the Heads of Estates, Service Support, the Director of IT, the Medical Centre, external contractors and the Commercial Manager. The duties and tasks detailed below will be performed by the COO or, by delegated authority, the Operational and Administrative managers as appropriate.

Rugby School Thailand is a co-educational day and boarding international school set in 74 acres of glorious Thai countryside south of Bangkok. It aspires to be one of Asia’s leading British-curriculum schools. It opened its doors in 2017 and today educates 800 pupils aged 2 to 18 in its purpose-built Pre-Prep, Prep School and Senior School. The school roll will continue to grow towards an expected capacity of 1,200 pupils.

Rugby School Thailand is selective and the student roll comprises approximately 55% expatriate and 45% Thai pupils. It is situated in stunning countryside in the district of Chonburi, approximately 12 miles from Pattaya’s coastline and 90 minutes by car from the centre of Bangkok. Rugby School Thailand is a member of the Rugby School Group and the first sister school of Rugby School, one of the UK’s most famous boarding schools.
