OCHA is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Programme Management Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects, as well as monitoring and analyzing specific aspects of programme/project development and implementation.
Key Responsibilities:- Work with key clients to facilitate the development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects.
- Monitor and analyze specific aspects of programme/project development and implementation.
- Review relevant documents and reports, identify problems and issues to be addressed, and recommend corrective actions.
- Liaise with relevant parties, identify and track follow-up actions.
- Carry out basic research on selected aspects of programmes, operations, and other activities.
- Provide substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation functions.
- Assist in policy development to support the South Asia network countries to meet their Hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) phase-out and Hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) phase-down obligations.
- Participate in survey initiatives for network countries, assist with design of data collection tools, and review and analyze responses.
- Contribute to the preparation of various written outputs, including draft background papers, analytical notes, and sections of reports and studies.
- Provide administrative and substantive support for network meetings, thematic workshops, conferences, and outreach activities.
- Participate in field missions, including provision of substantive and administrative support, data collection, and coordination of activities related to budget funding.
- Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Environmental Sciences, Natural Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project/programme management, administration, or a related area.
- Working experience in research, analysis, and report writing is required.
- Experience in refrigeration technologies and controlled substances under the Montreal Protocol is desirable.
- Field experience in developing countries is desirable.
- Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of Chinese is desirable.
