**_ Context:_**

Under the direct supervision of the Australian Cultural Orientation Unit (AUSCO) Global
Coordinator, based in the Global Office in Bangkok, Thailand, with secondary thematic oversight
by the Senior Integration and Migrant Training Specialist in the Resettlement and Movement
Management (RMM) Division at IOM Headquarters, Geneva and administrative oversight by the
Chief of Mission of IOM Thailand, the Global Project Officer (AUSCO) will be responsible for full
project support, namely independently coordinating, implementing and leading of initiatives,
recruitment processes and training pertaining to pre-departure cultural orientation for
Australia-bound refugees and humanitarian entrants originating worldwide; in close liaison with
the Global Coordinator, including but not limited to monitoring, results based management and
reporting, high-level stakeholder liaison, staff supervision and training, Human Resources (HR),
communications outreach and advancement of new initiatives and the standardization of
operations and procedures.

With a primary focus on the provision of global pre-departure cultural orientation services, as per
contractual obligations with the Department of Home Affairs, the Global Project Manager
(AUSCO) will also support the Global Office in its contributions to strengthening of IOM's overall
institutional approach towards pre-departure orientation by sharing lessons and approaches
learnt in AUSCO with the Integration and Migrant Training (IMT) unit within RMM, as well as
ensuring that the AUSCO program itself is aligned with IOM's overall strategic approach
towards PDO and integration in general, whilst expanding linkages with other relevant
programmatic areas including the Labour Migration Division, as part of the new Department of
Pathways and Inclusion

**_ Core Functions / Responsibilities:_**

1. Provide relevant program support through independently coordinating, implementing, and
leading of initiatives, recruitment processes and provision of technical assistance pertaining to
standards and operating modalities in line with contractual obligations at global level.

2. Advance continual AUSCO Program development through review and consolidation of
information required for policy input to the donor. Assess program objectives and KPIs to ensure
efficient and effective planning and administration of individual initiatives, including management
of the AUSCO Training Database, liaison with the Assisted Passage provider, management with
regards to the Humanitarian Settlement referrals system; and prepare project related proposals
and risk management tools.

3. Lead the implementation of new AUSCO delivery sites in close collaboration with the AUSCO
Global Office, Country Office and Sub-Office Management and other relevant stakeholders,
including local actors.

4. In collaboration with the AUSCO Global Coordinator, manage the recruitment and induction of
new staff together with relevant IOM Management of the Country Offices and AUSCO Regional
Coordinators, also organizing Training of Trainers (ToT) and/or capacity building workshops,
potentially engaging other staff, as might be required for large initiatives.

5. Review and prepare new standard operating procedures and processes for global
programmatic standardization.

6. Provide technical inputs that lead to the establishment of a results-based monitoring and
evaluation system for AUSCO, specifically aimed at increasing relevance, efficiency, and
effectiveness of the program, and assist in the development of a SMART evaluation framework
for pre-departure orientation program in line with IOM’s global results-based management
strategy.
