**This Opportunity**:
Palladium seeks a Chief of Party to lead a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded regional opportunity in Southeast Asia. USAID/Regional Development Mission for Asia (RDMA) seeks to scale up private investment in sustainable landscapes and reduce environmental damage and related greenhouse gas emissions associated with the Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) sector.

The Chief of Party will focus on mobilizing catalytic investment from the private sector to promote sustainable landscape practices and mitigate carbon emissions. The Chief of Party will report directly to Palladium’s Home Office Project Director. The Chief of Party will serve as the primary contact for USAID and will liaise directly with donor representatives and other stakeholders. The anticipated duration is 5 years starting tentatively in mid-2024.

Please note that this position is contingent upon project award.

**Location**:
The position will be based in Bangkok, Thailand

***Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Lead project implementation and oversee project staff and activities to achieve project objectives in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Provide overall strategic direction, leadership, and quality control with the objectives to mobilize and scale private sector investment for sustainable landscapes in Southeast Asia
- Collaborate with USAID projects and private and public stakeholders to mobilize significant capital into Southeast Asia’s Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) sector in a way that contributes to inclusive growth, environmental protection, and reduced deforestation.
- Represent Palladium as the primary, in-country liaison to USAID/Regional Development Mission for Asia (RDMA), bilateral and multilateral donors, governments in Southeast Asia, investors, community and non-government organizations, and private sector enterprises.
- In collaboration with the local staff in-country, identify program opportunities and potential local partners as needed.
Oversee and lead a multi-disciplinary, in-country staff and oversee the implementation of the scope of work.

**Key Competencies Required**:

- An agile innovator and strategic thinker with proven leadership, business acumen and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An entrepreneurial spirit and a track record of facilitating investments across Southeast Asia.
- Experience as a team lead on USAID projects of similar complexity and scope, preferably in Southeast Asia
- Knowledge of environmentally sustainable finance, sustainable development objectives, or environmental protection
- Familiarity with agriculture, forestry, and other land use (AFLOU) sector

**Professional Expertise/Competencies Preferred**:

- Experience building partnerships between government, private sector businesses, and investors.
- Expertise leading programmatic functions including work planning, budgeting, and reporting
- Demonstrated ability to oversee the recruitment, orientation, and performance of senior staff and development of middle management staff
English fluency required. Knowledge of a regionally relevant language highly desired (Thai, Lao, Khmer, Vietnamese, Tagalog/Filipino, Bahasa Indonesia, etc.)
