Energy systems worldwide are undergoing rapid changes. Most countries have now set themselves climate neutrality targets, but the challenges are manifold: It's about grids and markets, regulation and system integration, structural change and a just transition. In a nutshell, it's about reinventing energy systems. This is where we get involved. As Agora Think Tanks, we are pursuing the goal of achieving a climate-neutral energy system worldwide by the middle of the century. With currently around 150 employees at four locations worldwide, we combine research, dialogues, and technical assistance - we do this independently and free of economic or party-political interests. Sharing our knowledge, training partners and empowering individuals around the globe is a key component of our work. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a:
**Manager Press and Communications Southeast-Asia (f/m/d)**
Bangkok-based, full-or part-time role

In this role, you are part of Agora’s Communications Team and support colleagues in the Bangkok office to communicate Agora’s insights and activities through various channels, work closely with the communication offices of our regional partners in Southeast Asia, and build comms capacity within the team and with our partners through trainings.

**Your responsibilities include**:

- Developing communications products and a communications strategy that fit the Southeast Asian landscape together with Agora’s team and regional partners;
- Keeping an overview of the Southeast Asian media landscape and delivering regular briefings on the public discussions on energy and climate issues;
- Supporting Agora’s communication activities on a regional level including through drafting press releases, social media, and web content in close collaboration with the content leads in Bangkok and the communications team in Berlin;
- Liaising with Southeast Asia-based journalists and responding to journalist demands;
- Helping in designing and moderating webinars and workshops and conferences;
- Keeping up with upcoming opportunities for regional communication and developing relevant messages based on Agora’s work;
- Ensuring the quality of communications products, including reviewing, proofreading, and some basic layout work;
- Conducting communications/media trainings and providing support to regional partners as needed.

**We are looking for**:

- Outstanding English language skills, including the ability to proofread, draft documents, and review text at a high level. Other regional languages are a plus.
- Proven track-record as a communications or media professional;
- Regional and lived experience in Southeast Asia, including a strong understanding of local media and political landscapes;
- An understanding of climate and energy transition policy in Southeast Asia and beyond is desirable;
- Experience in working for international or regional bodies, including NGOs, think tanks, or research bodies;
- Good project management and organisational skills;
- Proven skills in dealing with social media and traditional media.
