**What You’ll Work On**
The Business Development Manager proactively creates, cultivates, and enhances relationships with current and potential clients for Campbell Scientific, Inc. This individual will focus on assigned markets in the Asia Pacific region. The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a key position in the development of new opportunities, transitioning them into the Campbell Scientific sales funnel and nurturing client relationships from transitional to strategic. Focuses of this position are in the areas of environmental and renewable energy, and infrastructure markets. Additional areas of focus include aviation weather, surface transportation, hydrology, with additional areas as assigned based on emerging opportunities for strategic growth.
**You’ll Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key Tasks**
Create and maintain a strong culture in accordance with the Campbell Scientific’s core ARCTIC values -- Accountability, Respect, Client-Centric, Teamwork, Innovation, Continuous Improvement.
Perform market research activities in support of new business development including identifying potential or underserved clients.
Contribute to Market Group Strategic plans and align sales and market growth tactics to deliver market share and revenues as outlined in those plans.
Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential clients including decision-makers and influencers in government organizations and private industry.
Collaborate within cross-functional teams throughout the company and in the region around key opportunities using emotional intelligence and influence.
Establish partnerships, strengthen market awareness, improve market perception, and identify and develop opportunities to grow the sales pipeline.
Assist sales team members with strategic or high magnitude sales opportunities before and after the sale.
Gather intelligence through personal interactions and market research to support strategic growth efforts.
Leverage deep knowledge of market needs to increase the competitive advantage of our product offerings.
Develop partnerships with key business entities that are aligned with the growth strategy of the market.
**What We're Looking For**
- Bachelor of Science or Arts degree in science, technology, engineering, business or equivalent work experience in a related field.
- Minimum five years of business development or technical sales or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation as it is applied to the focus markets.
- Elevated experience with automated measurements systems, sensors, and peripherals.
- Proactive and self-motivated to develop new business.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in the use of sales and business software including spreadsheets, business analytics, and CRM tools.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Proven business acumen and strategic thinking.
- Capable and confident conducting high-level business negotiations with C-level clients.
- Capable of managing complex business relationships, especially with key accounts.
- Proven leadership in cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to work with and influence global cross-functional teams.
- Languages: Fluency in English (required) and Mandarin Chinese (preferred).

**Physical Requirements**:
Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 25 lbs. walking up and down stairs; sitting or standing for extended periods of time; extended walking while in the field.
**Work Environment**:This is primarily an office environment with travel up to 25 - 40%.
