Veridikal Publishing, Inc. is an open access journal publisher that assists authors with prepeer review services.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
- Veridikal Publishing, Inc. is looking for a technical cofounder with experience with Wordpress and integrating Wordpress with a webapp.

This is a unique opportunity for a CTO who lives, eats and breathes academia and academic writing. We need to build a working demo and gotten positive response from VCs. But there's boatloads of innovation left to consider and work to do. One of our existing angel investors is a global name in technology and the future.

We need a technical leader that has been waiting for this kind of opportunity forever.

Given the size of the market there is a real shot at a great outcome financially. And we're not your usual team - we all have solid operating experience at companies small and large and we're aging gracefully. What will make you a good fit is the desire to build something that is truly meaningful and to enjoy the company of everyone around you.

A couple of things to consider...

First we are just beginning to get the project funded. You will need to be part of that process and your background should signal that we can achieve the big idea and make it pay.

Second we are a virtual company and don’t ever plan on having a fixed office, but this means we are completely flexible as to where you are. We want to build a competent dev team at the moment but you'll need to figure out the resources you'll need and where they need to be located. We are deeply experienced in our respective domains but we all are not hackers, coders or technical experts - that's your job.

This is an executive position with a seat on the operating committee reporting to the CEO. You should either be a CTO or your career progression places you on that track. You should have at least 5-10 years of experience and a track record of building cohesive, diverse teams and managing people so they come to work loving every minute of it.

Expect to be heavily involved in early stage customer visits, thought leadership, operating decision making, board presentations and government relations.

Minimum Qualifications

**Responsibilities**:

- The CTO combines contemporary software tools and methods to plan, implement and maintain Veridikal’s website and associated portals. This entails liaising with various client groups; soliciting/analyzing/responding to user needs and feedback; framing the underlying file/data structure of the website; managing the website’s content; creating W3C standards-based HTML5 and CSS, and developing using Wordpress, PHP, MySQL, Javascript and jQuery.
- Key Effectiveness Areas:

- Managing the routine technical, creative and administrative business of running the Veridikal website’s back and front-ends. Implementing website architecture and graphic web page designs and templates. ing and maintaining accessibility standards to the website. Assisting in assessment of website efficacy.
- Functional Responsibilities:

- Developing and maintaining the Veridikal website architecture and developing functional requirements.
- Managing the college’s website database and maintaining the content and design elements required for web page generation.
- Overseeing the day-to-day implementation of the web guidelines.
- Documenting, testing and maintaining all policies, procedures and standards.
- Overseeing content management system, including providing product specifications, training users, maintaining fluency and other necessary activities.
- Developing templates for content generation.
- Coordinating the creation of artwork and assets to appear on web pages.
- Implementing appropriate website architecture.
- Maintaining desired look and feel of Veridikal website across multiple devices.
- Benchmarking architecture, design and functionality best practices among higher education and other industry leaders
- Maintaining website cross-platform and cross-browser compatibility.
- Providing a website help desk service for faculty, staff and website visitors to answer questions and troubleshoot problems arising from their use of Veridikal’s website.
