Job Purpose:
Assistant Procurement Manager - Projects leads the development of Minor Food project procurement strategies to create process efficiency and visibility, leverage purchase volume, realize benefits from economy of scale, and maximize products/services quality with the goal of driving down total cost of ownership for the group. Includes setting procurement
strategies for different purchase categories, supplier contracting and negotiations, supplier qualification, and establishing quality processes. Emphasis is on strategy, supplier development, negotiations, business relationships, quality, cost, assurance of supply and predictability. Develops the company procurement strategies, policies and tactics required to
achieve objectives. Primary objective is to reduce the cost of supply and meet demand requirements across different brands and business groups, business and quality specifications, and revenue goals. Adds value to the company through managing performance aspects of major strategies and contracts
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop sourcing strategy for the assigned commodity to ensure consistent supply of quality products at the best possible pricing and guard against potential supply issues/ risks
- Analyse category spend data and continuously looks for cost saving initiatives
- Track, prepare reports and required documents for initiatives and cost saving projects
- Help to design and align new supply chain demand processes and policies with business processes
- Analyse, recommend, and manage qualify vendors-Lead the relationship and negotiation with the suppliers for the assigned category
- Fulfil all sourcing requests from brands and project according to the standard operating procedure-Facilitates new product rollouts or changes in a timely manner
- Manage all supply contracts and establish a contingency plan for core products
Project Sourcing Furniture, Fixture and Equipment (FF&E)Stainless WorkMechanic and Electrical
- Conduct the sourcing of the assigned non-food categories according to the corporate policies-Gather and clarify sourcing requisitions and specification from users
- Search for potential and qualify suppliers for new products request
- Search and propose alternative substitute product specification and material that result in improved quality of reduction in cost
- Prepare and issue Requests For Quotation (’RFQs’)
- Conduct supplier’s bidding
- Evaluate quotations and negotiate prices and purchase terms (e.g. quality, sample, lead time, warranty, etc.)
- Compare and prioritize vendors based on set criteria
- Communicate the bidding results to requestors
- Ensure the suppliers deliver according to the agreed purchase term and timeline (project) Process Improvement and cost saving activates
- Work closely with contract department to develop and monitor the assigned category contracts to leverage on Minor Food Group volume purchase
- Continuously search for new products, technologies or methods for potential savings-Track and quantify cost savings and other benefits to be communicated back to property
- Work closely with Project Manager/Engineer/Operation/Finance to facilitate smooth flow of centralized non-food distribution model
- Proactively searches out and support cost savings initiatives as needed
- Responsible for all documentation retention related to the bidding, product sourcing (quotations), CAPEX, comparison form, etc...
