Mott MacDonald's wind energy portfolio is extensive with a strong order book for independent engineer (IE) and owner’s engineer (OE) assignments regionally in ASEAN, East Asia and globally. - The technical principal will be an engineer or other technically educated professional, and bring good experience in wind energy technologies and markets. The Technical Principal oversees and direct the delivery of technical advisory services for wind projects, with excellent quality, on time and on budget.
- The role is varied in its nature and will include working on a range of international onshore and offshore wind and other renewable energy projects providing, among others:

- Technical advisory and due diligence services as independent engineer
- Owner's engineering, construction supervision and design review services
- Energy yield and resource assessments.
- Technical due diligence, and a range of technical advisory services.
- Concept and FEED design engineering
- Feasibility studies

As a technical principal you will be responsible for:

- Oversight of, directing and managing the portfolio of wind projects
- Directing and managing commercial proposals (bids)
- Leading, attending, contributing to internal and external meetings and site visits, internationally, as required
- Developing and maintaining close working relationships with clients on behalf of Mott MacDonald
- Working closely with other Mott MacDonald business teams and units to establish internal ‘delivery’ network
- Take the lead on developing and mentoring junior team members.
- Supporting the development of the offshore and onshore renewables OE, IE, and design capabilities
- Raising the profile of our wind and renewable energy projects internally and externally
- Establishing a coherent service package linked to existing clients and markets
- Ensuring business management systems (BMS) compliance

**About You**:

- 10+ years of renewable energy sector experience, with a focus on wind
- Experience in consultancy and working in the APAC region is desirable
- Experience in leading a diverse engineering team.
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
- Project management expertise across a wide range of disciplines with strong track record of ensuring program performance and customer satisfaction
- Proven experience of business development and stakeholder management

**Competencies**:

- Strong commercial focus with the ability to identify and manage risk.
- Good leadership skills with the ability to work with and motivate staff in a global setting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to relate to others at all levels.
- Ability to communicate clearly & concisely in English, both verbally & written, and ability to explain technical issues to non-engineers, including clients.
- Able to collate, analyse and act upon complex and diverse information from a variety of sources and give advice for senior management level decision making
