About the Role
We are looking for a mid-level Legal Associate to join our Labour & Employment department. The role will primarily focus on advising international clients, including Japanese companies operating in Thailand, on Thai labour law and foreign employment matters, while also providing opportunities to work on a variety of other legal matters across the firm’s practice areas, including corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, and licensing.
Key Responsibilities
· Advise international clients on Thai labour law and foreign employment matters, including employee termination, disciplinary action, employment conditions, employee transfers, work permits, and other employment-related issues.
· Draft, review, and revise employment-related documents, including employment agreements, work rules, warning and termination letters, HR policies, and other related documents.
· Conduct labour due diligence and assess legal risks in connection with corporate transactions.
· Conduct legal research and analyse relevant laws, regulations, court judgments, and administrative guidance, and prepare legal opinions, memoranda, reports, and other legal documents in Thai and/or English.
· Assist with negotiations and discussions relating to employment disputes and other labour matters. Secondary Responsibilities
· Provide legal support on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters, including company incorporation, corporate registrations, and other filings with relevant government authorities.
· Draft, review, and revise corporate and commercial agreements and other legal documents.
· Communicate and coordinate with clients, government authorities, and other relevant parties.
· Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments and consider their implications for clients.
· Collaborate with lawyers across different practice areas and support the management team on legal matters.
· Perform other legal tasks as assigned. Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Law
· 3 years of experience in legal department or international law firm
· Specialization in labour law
· Having lawyer license.
· Strong command of Thai and English, with good reading, writing, and speaking skills.
· Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in corporate registration and corporate law.
· Experience dealing and liaising with government authorities.
